Did you ever have one of those days? Would you like to? Will these people ever stop asking questions?
PATIENT
May I ask you something?
CHRIS
Sorry, how may I help you?
PATIENT
Is the doctor in?
CHRIS
If the doctor weren’t in, would we leave the door unlocked?
PATIENT
Do you have to be rude about it?
CHRIS
You don’t think I’m trying to be, do you?
PATIENT
Don’t you think it seemed that way? I’m not being sarcastic, am I?
CHRIS
Do you have kids?
PATIENT
Why? Should I?
CHRIS
Could you imagine what it’d do if they called you every ten minutes with ridiculous problems? Don’t they know I’m trying to do a job here? Can’t they see how much stress I have?
PATIENT
Could you try not to be so stressed?
CHRIS

PATIENT
May I see the doctor?
CHRIS
Do you have an appointment?
PATIENT

CHRIS
Could you sign the sheet, please?
(PATIENT starts to write on sign-in sheet)
PATIENT

CHRIS
What is your name? Do you need to check your underwear for it?
PATIENT
Still stressed?
CHRIS
Do you think you’re helping right now?
PATIENT
(Putting sign-in sheet down)
Can I see the doctor now?
CHRIS
He’s busy, so can you wait long?
PATIENT
Do I have a choice?
CHRIS
Do you really want me to answer that?
PATIENT
May I sit down now?
CHRIS
Who’s stopping you?
PATIENT
Where shall I sit?
CHRIS
See all those empty chairs? Do any of them look inviting?
PATIENT

CHRIS
Want to check up your…?
